What is gender swap casting you say?
Recently on Facebook, in the Wake of the recent and controversial Joker movie, I was inspired by a tweet by blogger Geraldine DeRuiter who said the Joker should be a woman. I asked my Facebook friends about a theoretical Joker movie with a woman playing the Joker and asked who they thought would be a really good female Joker. Some of the answers I got were Lili Taylor, Jane Lynch, Cate Blanchett, and Famke Janssen.
Here I’m proposing a reboot of the Road Warrior movie, the classic early 80’s version starring Mel Gibson. If they were to reboot this flick, but swapped genders so it would be about Mad Maxine and a lot of homicidal survivalist women in the wasteland, who do you think would be a really good Road Warrior? Who would play the Gyro Captain? Or Wez? Or Pappagallo?

Truly someone tough and scary would take the
Wez role. Which woman would you choose to be the
head psycho of the Humongous gang?
Yeah, this character’s name is Pappagallo, the
leader of the tribe fighting off the bad guys.
What woman could play Mammagallo, the leader of the desert
dwelling band of good guys?
The role of Humongous would probably be the hardest
to cast. Nevertheless, I bring up this character
to make it more challenging!
