This month I am publishing my two book series about my wild rock and roll character Skye Wright, a character I’ve written stories about for years.
You can read an excerpt here:

In this work I precede each chapter with a quote. Oftentimes it’s song lyrics, and other times it’s other writers, sometimes my friends and sometimes famous writers.
I also have Easter Eggs in my work. That is, references that only certain people will get. Sometimes they’re references that just about anyone could spot, like a quote from the television show The Young Ones, but oftentimes they’re references that only friends or colleagues would spot, such as the manager of an anarchist cafe being a friend’s cat, or a club named after a friend’s nickname.
One of the quotes preceding a chapter:
Were all equally broken, damaged,
And clueless individuals
Dani Dassler – PR
From Dani Dassler’s excellent punk novel PR. It’s the perfect quote for the scene!
As for Easter Eggs, in previous works I’ve named streets, clubs, and businesses after friends, or their bands, or any number of other familiar monikers. It comes in handy when I need a name for a street or a cafe. I also had a bookstore named after a friend’s surname in a previous work, one that was run by “A Norwegian who keeps telling the same jokes over and over again.”
